Public Hearings related to the District's Proposed Management Plan and Rules

Two hearings have been scheduled to take public input on the proposed management plan and rules:

Pursuant to Chapter 36, Texas Water Code, the Victoria County Groundwater Conservation District will conduct public hearings on a proposed Management Plan and proposed District Rules at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Dr. Pattie Dodson Health Center, 2805 N. Navarro St., Classroom 108A, Victoria, Texas 77901. An additional public hearing will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, September 15, 2008 at Dr. Pattie Dodson Health Center, 2805 N. Navarro St., Classroom 108A, Victoria, Texas 77901. These hearings are conducted to receive comments and suggestions from the public concerning the Management Plan and Rules of the District.
A copy of the proposed Management Plan and Rules may be reviewed or copied at the VCGCD office located at Dr. Pattie Dodson Health Center, 2805 N. Navarro St., Suite 210, Victoria, Texas 77901. The proposed Management Plan and Rules are also available on the District website at www.vcgcd.org.

Public Hearings related to Tax Rate

The Board of Directors of the Victoria County Groundwater Conservation District proposes to adopt a tax rate of $0.0098 cents per $100 taxable value. The Board of Directors will consider the proposed tax rate at a public hearing at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the Dr. Pattie Dodson Health Center, 2805 N. Navarro St., Classroom 108A, Victoria, Texas 77901. While the proposed tax rate is lower than the prior year, the proposed tax rate will increase total taxes in the Victoria County Groundwater Conservation District by 6.67 percent.

Board meetings

The district's board of directors typically meets on the third Friday of each month, though sometimes these regular meetings are rescheduled to accommodate the calendars of the directors and other participants.
